Largs + Isle of Cumbrae - Swimming in the Ocean

Largs is a lovely small place on the east side of Scotland, can be easily visited by train. After taking the ferry and the bus we reached the town of Isle of Cumbrae where there were a lot of possibilities to rent some bikes. If you are lucky with the weather - do it! It is affordable (6£/bike) and worth it. The distance around the Island is about 15 km. And again: Perfect for a daytrip!

A french friend even went swimming in the ocean. Well it was sunny but still super cold. I wouldn't recommend to do that. It's only for brave and fearless men. Or just crazy ones :-)  His hands were all blue afterwards. But at least he got some head-shakes from the locals and one point crossed out of his very personal, crazy To-do list in Scotland.
