VIENNA - By Stefan Hols

When going to Vienna, go there for at least one week. The city is one big open air museum and there is a lot to see and do. If you want to visit a Palace, eat some delicious chocolate pie, go shopping, or have dinner at 170 Meters in the air, it’s all possible in Vienna!

Tip 1: Buy a public transport pass you will need it. With this pass you can travel unlimited for 3 days with the really good organised underground in Vienna!  And that’s necessary because the most beautiful palace (schloss schönbrunn) for instance is too far away from the city centre to walk.
Tip 2: The city airport train brings you directly from the airport to the centre of Vienna! So much easier, faster and cheaper than taking a cap or bus.
Tip 3: Almost all churches in Vienna are free to visit, including the beautiful ‘Stephansdom’ in the city centre. It’s worth it!
Tip 4: Eat a ‘Sachertorte’ in the ‘kärntnerstraße’. It’s a delicious and traditional pie! This street is also one of the two large shopping streets with some of the more expensive brands like, Hugo Boss, Swarovski, Rolex, etc. The ‘Mariahilferstrasse’ is the longest shopping street in Vienna (And one of the longest in Europe).
Tip 5: Eat the biggest Schnitzel in Europe in restaurant ‘Figlmüller’.

Dinner at 170 meters in the air: The ‘Donauturm’ is a must see/visit. The restaurant turns slowly so you can see the entire city from the air.

Schloss Schönbrunn. Don’t forget to visit this beautiful building and see where Princess Sisi lived! The palace also has a beautiful garden with fountains with on top of the hill in that garden, a restaurant with a view on the palace.

Parliament building. One of many beautiful buildings in this area of Vienna across the street of Palace ‘hofburg’ and next to the ‘Neue Rathaus’

Neue Rathaus

‘Hofburg’ Place. You can go in this palace and see all the wealth. Also the ‘spanische hofreitschule’ is located at this palace

I enjoyed my trip to Vienna, I hope you do as well! ;) Travel-Rabbits, Thank you for sharing.
Stefan
