Dumgoyne, Glasgow – The Best Whisky Tour in Scotland!?

I’m not a expert in Whisky, not even sure if I like it… But I AM in Scotland, so it’s time to find out!! Sooo… Where to start?

Let’s start at the Glengoyne Distillery, founded in 1833. Its situated just 14 miles/22.5 km north of Glasgow, which is close to Stirling, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Glengoyne is unique in producing Highland single malt Whisky; unlike many other distilleries, Glengoyne uses warm air to dry their barley instead of peat smoke. Their stills are in the Highlands while the maturing casks of whisky rest in the Lowlands.

They offer 7 different tours: 1. Glengoyne tour £7.00PP/45min.: You will get a dram of Glengoyne 10 year old Highland Single Malt Whisky while overlooking the waterfall and glen + watching a film, before being whisked off to Scotland’s slowest whisky distillation. ;) (don’t know if that’s a good thing) 2. Wee tasting tour £9.00PP/60min: The same as tour 1; including a additional tasting of the award winning Glengoyne 17 year old Highland Single Malt Whisky. Sounds already much better! Two great drams instead of one!! ;). 3. Tasting tour £17.50PP/90min.: Includes the tour and the tasting of Glengoyne 12, 17 and 21 year old Highland Single Malt Whiskies. 4. Teapot Tipple Tour £25.00PP/90min.: A dram of 10 year old, the tour plus three unique, un-chill filtered drams which are exclusively available at the Glengoyne distillery only! 5. Master Blender Session £40.00PP/90min.: That’s what we are talking about!!! CREATE YOUR OWN BLENDED WHISKY! + everything from tour 2. Wee tasting tour.

The other two tours. 6. The Master class £125.00PP/5H and 7. A century of Whisky £150.00PP/2H are a bit out of our price ranges, but if you want more information about those; feel welcome to visit the official website of Glengoyne.
So, what will it be!? Leave a comment with your preference and learn more in next time’s Whisky post! I will proudly test the *Hiccup’s (Pardon me), Whisky tour for you!! ;)
Cheers, #Sophie.
