Scotland and its kilts

When we think about Scotland, we think mostly about the kilts !
Scottish symbol, the kilt is a traditional cloth  still worn nowadays. The kilt was originally worn in the Highlands, and was made by about fifteen meters of wool tartan, that persons wound around their waist and fixed with a belt. Kilts wear various colours specifs to each family.

The kilt stops at the knees, is wrinkled behind and flat in the front, where a pin holds the 2 sides of tissues to prevent it to fly !

The kilt is worn for special occasions, as marriages, or for the Highlands Games. It is more reserved for  men, although some women also wear it.
We can see it also during sports events or simply in the street, because the kilt is more and more worn in an everyday way.

The kilt is a raher expensive, going from £200 to more than £1000 according to the quality of the garment, the number of folds and the cutting, and can be made by Kilt Makers.
