Eastern holiday - part 5 - Fort William

Hi guys,

Last stop of the first day was in Fort William. At the harbour you can eat delicious Fish & Chips and if you walk up the hill you will have an amazing view.

 Sights:

1. Jacobite Steam Train: Scenic two hour run between Fort William and Mallaig. Adult/child day return: £32/£18 (May to August) - Includes Glen Finnan Viaduct known from Harry Potter.

Ben Nevis Distillery: Guided tour Adult/child £4/£2.

If your looking for a affordable place to sleep, check out: Spean Bridge hotel. Overall, its quite OK.. rooms are affordable, clean and there are possibilities to get breakfast and dinner.. (quality is overall not really high ;) but it will do..) There is a bar where you can enjoy life music and if you go up the hill there is this cute diner at the train stop.

Argyll, Inveraray, Oban - Braveheart & Harry Potter movie SPOT SPOTTING - ROAD TRIP TIP #2 "part 2"

Hi All,

Yesterday I told you about the first part of my road trip last weekend; if you thought castle hopping was a bit boring, what about movie spot spotting?

After we woke up on Sunday, we drove up to Fort William, where we had a big breakfast to energy up for our big adventure hiking up the Ben Navis (Where the Oscar winning movie Brave heart was filmed.) Joking ;)  we hiked up the Glen Navis. (smaller one, still beautiful views)

The snowy one in the Back is Ben Navis of Braveheart....brrr... Good Luck hiking that one ;)

We took the yellow brick road, which takes approximately 2h. However, other options are possible: shortest will be around 45 min and the longest about 5h.

After the hike we raced to Glen Finnan, which is the bridge from the movie Harry Potter. (Train to Hogwards, I believe he flies over it with his car) WEIRD SENTENCE!! flying car haha

WARNING: If you get caught on this bridge by the police you will get a £ 1000 fine. :S
From May until September you can take the train and drive over it for £30!! ;)

Hope you liked my road trip... and I hope to go on another road trip really soon!

Argyll, Inveraray, Oban - Castle Hopping - ROAD TRIP TIP #2 "part 1"

Hi there,

I've been on a road trip this weekend, which was AWESOME! We left Paisley on Saturday at 10.00h, by car and drove up to Loch Lomond, Argyll, Inveraray and had a pit stop in Oban. "Check the picture of Google Maps for the exact route we took" I've highlighted the most beautiful viewpoints. One tip, take this route after the Easter holiday, because a lot is closed between November and March.

Let me show you the way ...

Castle hopping, not something you would normally do... but actually really funny if your acting like a house shopping princess... ;) We've seen so many different landscapes on this tour, I really recommend to put this one on your bucket list.

Inveraray Castle, Argyll.
