Eastern holiday - day 2 - part 2 - Kyleakin, Skye bridge

Hi,

It's only an half-hour drive to the Kyleakin, Skye bridge from the Eilean Donan Castle. The bridge is free, but you can also take the ferry to Isle of Skye. 1. Mallaig to Armadale: (tip: crossing 30min.) per person/car: £4.35/22.60. 2. Glenelg to Kylerhea: (crossing 5min.) car with four passengers: £14.

Another possibility is to take the bus in Glasgow to Portree or Uig,which takes 7/7.5 hours and cost you around £40.

Edinburgh Castle

In Edinburgh you really have to visit the famous Castle located at the top of the city and builded in the 12th century.

I'd recommend to book the tickets for a tour in the Castle in advance or if you’re doing a City Tour by bus buy the tickets together. The queue at the Castle might be quiet long, so planning in advance saves you time (and patience !!).

Overview of Edinburgh

When I arrived in Scotland, one of the first thing I did was : going to Edinburgh !!
If you are in Glasgow, you can take either the bus or the train: for a return-ticket, it is quite the same price (about 12£) and the same time (about a hour to go there).

You can do a city tour if you want to have a look at the town:

Keep your ticket, cause it is redeemable for 3 months, just in case of !!
